Just Down the Road

'Just Down the Road' is an original fine art scratchboard drawing in black and white. The board size is 4 in x 6 in. A summer afternoon walk has taken us down an old dirt road in farm country. The day is warm, and you can smell the fragrance of just-turned soil warmed by the sun and newly opened wildflowers. The entire miniature artwork was done with an exacto blade on black scratchboard. Very fine lines were drawn in layers, slowly building up the detail and highlights. Tiny dots were used to create the sky. Please note that the squiggly line effect is caused by digitizing the image for the internet. The lines on the actual drawing are smooth.
